Generically, food crime is understood as an irregular conduct carried out by the causal agent (i.e. distributor, manufacturer, first-stage producer or simply trader) who harms the legitimate and direct interest of the consumer (the latter being understood as the person who habitually incorporates a certain quantity of food or food products into his ADI - admitted daily intake - and for which he pays a price), clearly damaging public health, the environment and the overall social community.
