Abstract

Boophilus microplus is the cause of great economic losses, since it causes a drop in milk and meat production, with an average loss of 0.24 kg of live weight / tick/year, causes damage to leather and is the transmitter of Babesia bovis and Babesia bigemina protozoa and of Anaplasma marginale rickettsia.
